Upload quota: I've deleted tracks but still can't upload more

Hello everyone,

Depending on the account type you have, there might be a limit of how much content you can upload to your account. (Free = 180 minutes, Pro = 360 minutes, Pro Unlimited = no limit)

If you've used up all of your minutes of upload space allowed for your account, some of your tracks might become hidden and you cannot upload more.

In order for all of them to appear on your account, you have two options.

You can check out what tracks are hidden on your account here.
To delete tracks, click to view hidden tracks and hover your mouse over the track for the trash icon to appear.

Please note that it can sometimes take a moment for the track deletion to be fully processed on our backend. If you just deleted some tracks to make space but are unable to upload more or if the system still suggests you are over quota, please do the following:

Log out of your SoundCloud account, clear your browser's cache, restart it, then try again. This will ensure your browser doesn't try to fetch old data from its local cache.
Also, please note that it can take a few minutes for our deletion systems to fully process your track deletion, so please give this a moment.

Cheers
Mathis

When I tried to upload new tracks it told me that " You're over your free 3 hour limit by 1 minute" although its not true then i deleted some tracks so that I can upload but it still shows the same message " You're over your free 3 hour limit by 1 minute" ?!
I have the same problem and so far they have refused to acknowledge it.

Hi Yakk Attakk,

Sorry about the confusion, however this is not to do with not acknowledging an issue on your account. I believe I've mentioned this to you before on a different conversation: According to our records, you actually are over your quota. Here's why:

1. Jackin House Mix (Dec 2014) --> public track on your profile
2. Jackin House Summer Mix (July 2014) --> public track on your profile
3. Jackin House (May 2014) --> This track is hidden, because you're over quota. This is also why you cannot upload any further tracks. It is 1:06:29 long, and once you delete this or any of your other tracks, you'll be all set (it may take a moment, and you might need to log out, restart your browser to refresh its cache, then try again). Alternatively, you could upgrade to one of our Pro Plans.

You can check out the hidden track on your account here: https://soundcloud.com/you/tracks. To delete click to 'view hidden tracks' and hover your mouse over the track for the 'trash' icon to appear.

Hope I was able to clear things up for you!

Best,
Mathis

Hi SOL,

Your situation is different from Yakk's - you should be all set for your account https://soundcloud.com/soundsoflife1. If not so, please try logging out, restart your browser, then try again.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Cheers

Hi all, first post here.
I see this is a problem a lot of people have encountered. SC was telling me I was "4 minutes" over my 3-hour free allowance. I deleted a bunch of tracks - well over four minutes' worth - and still no dice. Then I deleted a 70-minute long mix, and when I go to My Tracks it tells me I have 66 minutes remaining - but it still won't let me post a new track and still gives the same "4 minutes over" message.

Before anyone says it, I've checked my Hidden Tracks list and it's empty, so the ones I deleted really were deleted.

Is it just that the system needs time to refresh, and I'll be able to post new tracks in a few hours or tomorrow, or what?

Cheers!
im havin the same issue. i deleted a good majority of my tracks and now i cannot upload anything.
I'm having the same problem too, no solution been found?
Hi there! please could you check my account too? ... I _m having the same problem,.... thank you
I'm having the same problem except for my 6-hour pro account, could you look into it for me? Thanks 🙂
Hi I have the same problem 😞 I've deleted everything but still says I'm over my limit - Fixed. Thank you 🙂
Hi all,
I don't know if it took attention from one of the SoundCloud admins but the problem had resolved itself when I tried again a few hours later. So just give it a while and it might be fixed when you come back to it.

Cheers.

Hi ECCO Inc.,

You have used up all of the 180 minutes that come with a free plan. If you want to continue to upload new tracks, you can either delete some of your old tracks to make space, or upgrade to one of our Pro plans.

Hi there,

I seem to be having the same problem... It says I'm over my upload limit, but after removing a dozen files (also hidden) nothing seems to happen... Does soundcloud need time to update it's counters?

Thanks for looking into this.

regards.
I have the same problem here, I deleted all my trakcs and I still have the same restriction. https://soundcloud.com/pablo-llanes-1

Hi Mathis,

I have deleted over 10 minutes of audio since I received this "3 hour limit" message and I still continue to receive it.

Grateful for your assistance in resolving this issue.

Thanks.

Me too. It says I have 50 tracks but I only have 23 now and I'm very certain that these 23 are no where close to 3 hours

Hey while you are at it, explain why I have 1n hour and half of music and your program says I am over my 3 hours limit by 48 minutes?
im having the same problem what do i do ?

Hi Luis, try by refreshing your screen, log in again
Then they deleted half my original tracks because I uploaded 1 hour and thirty minutes and apparently that is "48 minutes over my three hour limit." What an absolute joke of a business plan. You guys are hurting a lot of artists. Your whole platform is killing the livlihood of musicians everywhere. What a massively deleterious affect your negligence is having on the entire industry. It's called a chilling effect and you are squashing dreams.
I deleted all my tracks in an attempt to re-upload only what will fit. Can't see them or "hidden tracks" when I push the button to see them. Can I get some help please?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled why am i 56 minutes over my 3 hour limit when i have 2 55 minute mixes only?.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Track saying it's hours long when it's an hour long.

I'm trying to upload my podcast to host on soundcloud - been informed I've already gone over my limit for uploading (3 podcasts uploaded around an hour each) so my first podcast is now hidden unless I pay but looking at my page it says one track is 5 hours long when it clearly isn't and I have no idea why other than some glitch that's forcing me to pay for pro unlimited.

Any help on this?
