I've had my podcast up on iTunes for a couple months now. Things have been working fairly well and I have been learning more about RSS feeds and how to work with them. There is more I wish I could do here I on SoundCloud.

This other day I received an email from iTunes stating that my URL/RSS has been blocked or removed from the iTunes directory. The show, On the Block Radio with Andrew Gurevich, is not in the iTunes directory anymore and I have verified this.

Please advise as to what happened. I have gone a verified each episode and there has been no changes that I have made to any of the file structure. We try and do each of them the same each time to keep things consistent.

Here is the text from the email I received.

Dear podcast owner,
The podcast located at the URL shown below has been blocked or
removed from the iTunes directory as a result of technical problems with
the feed. Name:
On the Block Radio with Andrew Gurevich
Feed URL:
http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:19020743/sounds.rss If you wish to reactivate your podcast in the iTunes directory, please troubleshoot your feed and check the functionality of each episode. To test your podcast, start iTunes, select Subscribe to Podcast from the Advanced menu, and enter your feed URL in the dialog box. If you can successfully subscribe to your podcast and listen to each of the episodes, you can reactivate your podcast by resubmitting the feed using the Submit a Podcast page,
https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast.
For more information on troubleshooting feed problems and controlling the appearance of your podcast on iTunes, please see the podcast FAQ at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/faq.html and
technical specification at

Hi there,

Hm, now that's weird! Not sure if you've changed anything after writing in here, but all the settings are looking ok from our end. I noticed you have a Podtrac account put in your SoundCloud settings - have you reached out to them to see if they know of any emerging issues? Also, did you get back to iTunes and asked for further details?

Let us know!

Cheers
Mathis
I did reach out to iTunes and I have not heard anything back yet. I am in there support cue though. The Podtrac I thought is just tracking whats happening here at SC. The feed/url that podtrac has is the same as what SC has given me and the same feed I gave to iTunes.
It's an odd one for sure, I have been pretty consistent with how I enter the metadata and how I work with the RSS in order to not have this happen.
This is just really bad timing. Our recent guest Chris Ryan has a much larger audience and our numbers were reflecting that nicely. Now you can't find us on the index....
Not sure what to do...

After a lot of time with three tiers of iTunes support help and they are not able to assist me.
It appears on their end (iTunes) that the feed as already been removed from the store and they advise me to resubmit the url/feed again through the phobos.apple.com link.
When I do this I get a message saying it already exists and can not be resubmitted.

Here is my next question and one that I do think will help me get around, what appears to be just a glitch. The idea is a 'new' or different RSS link. If my address was ever so slightly different then it would be in the store already.

Can SC reset my address and we can give this a try?

As it is, this one is broken according to iTunes.

Thanks,
Mike
I am still having issues and I really need some help.
Is anyone available to help...
Do I need to make a new thread?

I believe I need a new RSS to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Hi again Mike,

Thank you for following up on the issue here. I'm glad to hear you were able to get your feed back up and running. Would have been interesting to know the details of the problem, too bad Apple didn't provide these :-/

Either way, happy podcasting :-)

Cheers
Mathis
