iTunes Podcast Connect has validated my RSS feed a day ago.

However, when I attempt to play the podcast episodes from within iTunes? The play buttons just spins and spins and spins ... the episode does not play. In fact none of my 6 episode on SoundCloud will play through iTunes.

Is this a SoundCloud issue or an iTunes issue?
Even iTunes Podcast Connect validated my RSS feed, does iTunes itself need more time to process sound files? What else happens?

My iTunes for my podcast is the following:

My RSS feed is the following:

BTW: I am a professional software engineer.

Can anyone with technical know how tell me Why does this CURL command does not reveal the actual RSS XML feed?

curl -H "Content-Type: application/xml" -X GET

Nothing is returned.
Ah ha! I see SoundCloud has updated my RSS feed URI

Now the following command does reveal the XML RSS feed!

curl -H "Content-Type: application/xml" -X GET

The output (abbreviated) is this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><rss xmlns:atom="" xmlns:itunes="" version="2.0">
<atom:link href="" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml"/>
<atom:link href="" rel="next" type="application/rss+xml"/>
<title>Pilgrim Engineering Architecture Technology Podcast - PEAT UK</title>

I edited the output with HTML entity codes for non-technical readers 😉
I refreshed my feed on iTunes Podcast Connect. I will see it works in the next 24 hours or so...
iTunes Podcast Connect has refreshed and activated my podcast.

From there I select "View in iTunes Store", which opens a new Safari window. From this page I select one of the tracks and open in iTunes the application. I press PLAY and then ...

What is going on? Can someone explain why this procedure does not work please?
Ok just found this discussion about MP3 files only streaming in bloody iTunes.

I am trying it now converting 3 episodes to MP3. Afterwards, I will refresh the Podcast Connect thing

Converting the episodes to MP3 or exporting the tracks as MP3 and then uploading them to SoundCloud worked for me.
iTunes Connect reactivated my podcast feed and then I play my episode 6 here

So I fix the remaining episode later on today.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't use AAC MP4 use MP3 for iTunes to stream or download.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for sharing your investigation that led to the solution. Hmm, it sounds like it was indeed the codec that caused this issue. We'll be sure to pass on your feedback to the relevant product team.
