iTunes has a problem with my cover art. It says 1400 x 1400, which I have. It says jpg, which I have. It then says it must be RGB color and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests. I'm not sure what I need to do. Can you help me?

I am also having this same issue. I have gone through and double and triple checked my image size before uploading. The image is clearly within the parameters. But I still get the error. I did the suggestion of loading the feed into a window and finding the image line. When copying the image file from this into a new window to see... that image size is DRASTICALLY smaller than the image that I am uploading.

I am on a Mac. I am using Safari. I am using Pixelmator to resize my image. It is 1500x1500 but the image size in my feed is showing like 675x675. Where is the disconnect happening? Someone please help!
We are having the same problem and ALL our logos and background pictures are over 1400x1400
Our RSS feed is - http://feeds.feedburner.com/thefacelessdepiction
SoundCloud - https://soundcloud.com/the-faceless-depiction

Please help... we don't know what to do
Just an idea that had just worked for me.

I have changed my image's name to an all small caps not dashes ["simplydoitlogo.jpg"]

and it worked!
Mathis, I am having the same problem. I believe our image is big enough but we keep getting the same error message, i followed your steps from your original post and am still having an issue. would you mind taking a look for us as well?

Hi there,

Thanks for posting. iTunes' error reporting can sometimes be a bit misleading I must say. Anyways - I've looked into this for you and it looks like your profile picture isn't 1400x1400 at this time.

Here's how you can make sure (and how I tested this): Copy and paste the RSS feed in a new browser tab and press enter - you'll see a whole lot of text. Look (or search) for the line that has the .jpg-URL in it - in your case, that's

<itunes:image href="http://i1.sndcdn.com/avatars-000111159799-8dxu9u-original.jpg"/>

Copying the http-address and opening it in another new tab on your browser will show you the currently used image.
Thus, I'd recommend to upload the image to your SoundCloud account (you can do so here: https://soundcloud.com/settings) and try again.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes :-)

Cheers,
Mathis

I am having the same problem. My RSS Feed url is :

Hi Mathis, could you help me out too? Here's the profile (https://soundcloud.com/tribalpodcast) and here's the RSS url (http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:209326955/sounds.rss)

iTunes is giving me the podcast artwork error message. Thanks.
This is happening to me as well. I cannot figure out how to fix it.

Like Norman, it was our profile picture preventing the upload. Thanks Norman.

Hello Soundcloud, I also had the same problem submitting my image to iTunes.

I suggest you clarify that it's the profile image, not the episode or playlist image that is the problem on this help page that most of us beginners end up on. http://help.soundcloud.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2106982-itunes-is-giving-an-error-message?b_i...

This is not the case today.

That way, you'll save us podcasters some frustration and quite some time too. ;_)
Okay, thank you, Mathis. I see the problem. It was my profile picture. I was thinking the picture I uploaded to the actual audio file in SC would be the picture that iTunes would pick up. However, they were picking up my profile picture--my big head, which is not 1400 x 1400.

So, I changed my head out, in my profile on the SC profile page, to my logo art for iTunes and it worked perfectly.

Thank you for being responsive and helpful.

thank you mathis cannot believe i've spent 6 hours and had incredible stress and frustration changing my track image ahundred times and it was my profile pic the whole time doh, thank you

I'm having the same issue, and I've definitely got the right size on there.. The image says it's less than 800 x 800

Hi again,

Sorry about the confusion with this. I've looked into this for you again, however the profile image is still 4000x4000. So let's see - maybe it is just a matter of misunderstanding which image needs to be adjusted.

The image that iTunes pulls in for your podcast is not the artwork of your individual tracks. It is the profile image that you set up for your SoundCloud account.

Hope this now helps. If you still cannot get through it, feel free to attach the image here on your next reply and we'll take a look from here and see if we can update this for you from here.

Cheers

Hi there EarhtVoice,

Checked your current profile image, and it appears to be 4000x4000 px in size. iTunes allows 1400 x 1400 px minimum, but also 3000x 3000 px maximum. Thus, you'll need to update your image once again to a square size between 1400x1400 and 3000x3000 and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!

Also, here are two great resources for podcasting on SoundCloud and iTunes:

Hi there,
I'm having the same problem. My profile pic has been resized to 1400x1400, and it's in jpg format....but itunes will not accept the feed. It keeps giving me the same message the others were encountering.
Pulling my hair out. 😞 Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. Though the picture I'm uploading is definitely above 1400 x 1400 pixels when i check the rss feed it says its only a few hundred pixels. I'm not sure when its being converted. What should I do?

I had that issue too... Make sure you change your "Profile Pic" not just your "Track Pic". Both photos need to be the right size. It worked for me once I made the change.

Hope it goes well.
