RSS Feed vs Private tracks

Hello,

I originally uploaded the latest episode of my podcast as a private track and then a few hours later made it public. Im beginning to think that this is causing a glitch for the RSS feed to update properly. As of right now if i go to iTunes through the computer app or browser I can see the latest episode however, the feed is not updating in the podcast iphone app.

I tried making the track private and then public again but this hasn't solved the issues. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks!

So the problem was that the new RSS feed was not updated in https://podcastsconnect.apple.com. I logged into the site and put the soundclud RSS feed and it worked perfectly.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Hmm. A private track won't ever be included in your RSS feed actually. However, we haven't heard from other users about this causing an issue.
It sounds like your phone's cache might be showing outdated info. Have you tried restarting the iPhone entirely to see if this gives the phone a bump?
Yes. I've tried that a few times. I was advised by soundclouds' twitter to go to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com and refresh the feed however I'm not sure if that is working. iTunes store.

This is our original RSS feed
http://wecomefromqueens.squarespace.com/we-come-from-queens?format=RSS

through square space i have redirected it to here http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:118451933/sounds.rss

I'm not sure who to go to solve this. I see the the podcastconnect.apple.com that the image is not the same as in the podcast app (which actually has the new image)

Hi again,

Hmm - super odd! Especially because you were saying that the podcast on iTunes via a computer does show the most current podcast episode. This is what made me think it might have to do with the app and / or your phone in the first place.

Have you reached out to reach out to the iTunes support to see if they have any insights we might not know of yet?
yes, lol I'm in communications with squarespace, itunes and soundcloud hoping that one will find a discrepancy
could it be possible that the tracks are not updated on the back end although I've made them public?

Ayayay, really sorry to hear this requires so much detective work.

Mh, in order to see what is in your RSS feed, i.e. what is the most current feed that is pushed to services like iTunes, you would typically just paste the feed URL in the address field of a new browser tab and hit enter - each episode is one . If your most recent tracks are in there, you're all set from the SoundCloud end of the chain.

Let the community know how this continues. I really hope this can soon be solved.

Cheers
Mathis

P.S.: Actually, I've just looked up your podcast from my own iTunes and on my Apple Podcast app, and can see all the episodes up to Ep 49 on both devices. Maybe a local thing on your device after all?
The only reason why I do not think it is an issue with my device is that although you see all the episodes that doesn't mean its coming from the proper rss feed which I can tell by the episode descriptions. The Squarespace rss feed is shorter while the soundcloud has more info. Also within the podcast app the episodes are in complete sequential order telling me its pulling form the old feed because the episodes are out of order on soundcloud (they go from episode 14 to 21 itunes story represents this)

I also noticed now that the itunes store has a diff image that in podcast app. This may be an issues outside of soundcloud.

I'll definitely look into the cache on my phone however this is would mean that it isn't caching on others phones as well.

I'll be sure to update the community as I gain more information.
