Question

Some episodes won't show on podcast RSS

My podcast rss seems to be limited and the first few episodes now do not show. Is there a limit to the number of episdoes the feed can show?

Thank you

Hi there,

Whether or not a track is included in your feed is determined in the track's settings. I'd recommend to go through the track manager if you're planning to change many of your tracks' settings, as you seem to have uploaded quite a lot of tracks. (https://soundcloud.com/you/tracks)

From here, choose the tracks you want to adjust, then choose "Edit" - "Permissions" and find the box that says "Include in RSS feed".

If you're planning to include each and every track in your RSS feed rather then handpicking which tracks should go into your feed, you can also let me know this in a reply here and I might be able to do that a bit quicker. :-)

Cheers
Mathis

Hi Mathis,
Thanks for the super quick response.
I am checking the "include in RSS" box for relevant tracks, but out of those, the oldest ones seem to have dissapeared, at least they don't show on iTunes.
Take this track for example:
https://soundcloud.com/glz-radio/psr1it5dgkws?in=glz-radio/sets/alliances
The "include in RSS" box is on, but it doesn't show.

Also since I have so many tracks, I might be interested in dividing my podcast RSS into different feeds. Is it possible to create more rss feeds that are seperated?

Thanks a lot

Hi again Barak,

Hmm, ok, that does seem strange. I'm reaching out to our developers about this to see if there is a limit. It seems that currently only 21 tracks are included in your RSS feed. Is this anywhere close to the number of tracks you've chosen to be in your feed?

Apart from that, one account can only have one RSS feed at this point - sorry.

I'll follow up with you as soon as I've heard back from our devs.

Cheers
Mathis

It's about 2/3 of our RSS tracks. Strange.

Looking forward to hearing what the devs say.

Thanks a lot

Hi again Barak,

Alright, so I've now been able to sit down with two of our engineers and we've looked into this for you. Your should now have 34 tracks in your RSS feed, including the track that you mentioned earlier. :-)

The issue was that the system that runs the feed can currently only look at your most recent 400 tracks and include these in your feed. Our developers have put a fix for this into place that sorts your issue for the time being. The podcasting program is being further improved over time and our developers continue to work on this.

Hope this helps :-)

All the best
Mathis

Great. Thanks a lot.
I think there's a lot of potential for the podcasting options and I would love to see it further developed.

Thanks again and jah bless Soundcloud.
