Client ID changed?

I have a basic (free) SoundCloud account and use the API to shared my tracks on my website. My client id suddenly changed a couple of weeks ago, no warning, causing my players to fail until I finally figured out what was up. I had to find my new client id and update it in the the API calls on my site, now everything is working again but ... how often does this happen? Why? Did anybody else experience that?

Ya, same, would also like at least a heads up so that I can push the change without too much of a gap.
