Question

Remove "View Track" link in private embedded playlist

I have a playlist I've created that I want to embed on my website, on a secret page that requires a login. I want people to be able to download the tracks from this page.

I have made the tracks and playlist private on Soundcloud, so people who check my profile won't see them. HOWEVER, on the embedded player, there is a little "View Track" link that pops up when you click to listen to a track. Clicking that link takes you to the private page on Soundcloud. This means that people logged in to the page can get the link and freely share it with others.

Is there a way to remove that "View Track" link, so the embedded playlist is totally standalone?

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for posting. Removing or hiding this link is currently not an option, but I do see your point. Given the playlist is on a website of yours that requires log in info, I guess it is not ideal to continue discussing this particular case on the - quite public - help forum.

Thus, I'd encourage you to write in to us via email so our specialists can take a closer look at this and bring the case to our product team and developers. Please let them know you were referred via the help forum so they are in the loop about things :-)

Cheers,

Hi Bert,

Thanks for the input. Changing this parameter will only affect the name in front of the title of each track in a playlist, however won't remove the "view track" link for the currently playing track. Good thinking though! There hasn't been an update from our devs, but I'll make sure to follow up on this.

Has there been any progress in this issue? 🙂
Hi, same problem - any developments? Or can a playlist marked Private now be made available (or linked) to a website where the page requires login?
