According to SoundCloud, whenever the play button is pressed, they count that as a "play" in their system. Is it smart enough to determine a unique user/listening session, or does it literally count a play each and every time that button is pressed? (Say, for example, a person is listening to Podcast A, then pauses playback to use the restroom, then returns and hits play again. Is that now two plays, or still one?)
Also, any idea how plays work with third party apps? What's a third-party RSS feed vs apple core vs iTunes, etc.?
I have a feeling that my plays are being shown higher than they actually are, and I'm having a tough time determining what specific platforms are being used to listen to my podcast.
Any help/clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
