Question

Too many plays on our last track

Hi,

We've just uploaded a track on our page named "rising hope". The tree following days after the post, plays related to our sound were realistic compared to the number of followers we have and to the promotion we made. However, today plays increased by 50 per hours. According to us it's not possible to be natural. Furthermore, at the begining we've got 30 likes for 300 plays, but from 300 plays to 800, no more likes. It's very strange. Can you explain us why and solve the problem ? We're losing some credibility about that and it's not the first time. It also happened on our previous tracks. May this problem be a BOT ?

Thanks for you answer,

Kind regards,

Brhunters.

Hi Brhunters,

Thanks for asking. We have no means of confirming whether or not your recent spike in plays came from a fraudulent source, but we can see they are concentrated to a specific number of locations that are often flagged for fake plays.

It could be that someone paid for your plays to be increased, or you were mistakenly subject to fake plays bought for another account. We do not condone of people paying to increase their plays, and our trust and safety engineers are working on improving our anti-spam systems to weed out fake plays.

I'm afraid we do not have the technical means of reverting, or adjusting, play counts. You can delete and re-upload a track to refresh the play count, but keep in mind this means all Likes, Comments and Re-posts will also be lost.

We are working towards this though so in the future we can eradicate this problem and be in a better position to combat fake activity.

Thanks,
Gina
