Inappropriate content and users on SoundCloud

I too am *sick* of checking my sound cloud Pro, for which I've obviously paid, to see a new follower and unwittingly click on to be confronted with a huge picture of labia. FFS! Sort it out! I am never paying again for this shit! So degrading for all parties, so unprofessional, I am so tired of it and it's been going on for about 3/4 months now.

You report it as spam. They are fake accounts and they are trying to sell something. Despite the links saying "look at my photos" they all go to a fake dating/hook-up site which they hope lonely men will pay to join.

I'm also disturbed by these accounts... it's always some shit like "user030581963198763198" and a zilion following and no followers. And the description's always like "hey there sexy". Why do they do this, can't they just fck off???

I might be happier if there was a porno report or something. But no, it has to be copyright or some sh*t... 😣 cringe

I'm seeing a lot more of this recently as well. I'm getting these every day now, as opposed to just a couple of times a month. I do report it as Spam every time, but it's starting to get real tedious. Come on Soundcloud, you need to sort this out.
Well OF COURSE SoundCloud can do nothing against it, this service is so poorly run I'd probably have more luck publishing my music if I did it on foot in an African village. SC knows they're powerless against it but they can't do anything.
Ya all they seem to do is run something that sniffs out these fake profiles and deletes them, after you get their bs message to be naughty in their pleasureland or whatever. Pretty lame everybody's gettin this shit in their inbox all the fuckin time.
I'm surprised there are not more people complaining about this. I have not heard any solutions either. First, let me say that I'm happy overall with the service and the only thing I cannot stand is getting likes by people who have no business on here, so let me offer the following solution:
First, make soundcloud a paid members only website. People who do not produce music and use the service to serve as their cloud storage for their music should have restrictions, get commercials and limited access to content, just as Pandora does. If someone wants to subscribe just to listen to music, they should pay for a commercial free service.
I can see problems with this because a lot of people listen for free and support the community. So maybe it comes down to better screening and customer service. Have a human being check an individuals status. If they have a sexy picture even to sell their music and/or prey on people who produce music who have limited likes, they should be removed from the service, sex sells, but I'm not paying to see anymore selfies of skanks liking my music even though it has not even been listened too. I guess I can just turn off my notifications, its not like anyone like my music except me anyway.
Just do some weeding, hire some people to do it.
That is the best I have for now. I'm sure there is a way to report people.

Since these bot accounts are probably being created by some bot system, wouldn't a Captcha system when creating an account help? Isn't that what they are for? There is one here if you give a wrong password a couple of times so why not extend that.
^ good solution!
They seem to be deleting the accounts, but not the illicit spam messages. My inbox has messages from several "Deleted Account" users. There's no way to flush your inbox, so I get to open them all and delete them individually if I want the unread messages notification to go away.

Same thing here! Truth is every social network will always have spam accounts. But I agree that they could come up with some sort of verification system to ensure these accounts are being created at a minimal level.
Can't they just write a bot which detects users whith these patterns? Because they join quickly and then follow a ton of people.
I am also tired of getting alerts thinking I got a new fan, only to find out its spam! They need to find better ways of screening users!
jeez if i get another follower with a large explicit photo of a vulva as their banner...why does soundcloud have so much more spam than anything on the internet these days? I'd get less if I signed up for a porn-based site!
But then if you get into flagging or bot policing, you might have a youtube-style situation where innocent users have their accounts and music removed, whilst it barely does anything for the pornographic element that is still there...i'm not sure what you can do tbh.
JessN may be correct: a capthcha might solve quite a lot of the problem, but not all. I think these people (offering sex or whatever) would hire low-paid folk in 3rd World countries for peanuts to sit at a laptop and sign up. They would then "Follow" lots of people (victims), which would take more time, unless of course SC is actually being hacked.

I would think that a paid subscription would finish off the sex trade on SC, but I don't think I'd pay myself, because SC stopped last year emailing me when new tracks come out, so (a) I can't easily hear tracks my favourite musicians have posted and (b) they probably don't know when I have posted, which is all a bit disappointing. I just wouldn't bother any more, or go to a different cloud site.
Perhaps you can get vulva recognition software on a par with face or smile detection. That'd fix 'em!

I'm actually being serious.
idk a lot of things look like vulvas?!

But seriously didn't facebook employ something and then flag up various profiles which were banned for having things that vaguely looked like nudity...idk the answer to be honest, i'd think a situation where i get all my music deleted because i post a picture of a flower or a mouth or something gets flagged is probably worse....the captcha is probably best, and surely a way to block the automatic messages and requests..
Oddly, this Thread is marked "Solved" in an orange box just above the title, and yet there doesn't seem to be an official SC post which says HOW it was solved.
*sigh*
