Question

Why are there still SO many spammers on this website? (third time posted)

Uh, hello? Are there actually any staff working at Soundcloud at all? What the fuck is wrong with you people? Why can't I get an answer? I paid over $100 for my shitty year-long subscription to this god-awful website. The least you fuckwits could do is answer my question. This is the third time I have posted it.

Since I've gotten no answers the first time around, I am reposting this question. I will continue to do so until one of your so-called 'staff" (who apparently don't give a shit about spam) respond.

After I upload a track, within 10-20 minutes I usually get a "like" notification. However, it's ALWAYS from a spam account. Here's some examples https://soundcloud.com/xojede3https://soundcloud.com/garthgpalin62https://soundcloud.com/edgarjohnmceachern
Notice how all of these accounts have exactly the same picture?
Now can you tell me, why is it so hard to auto-ban every single user who uses that picture? This has been going on for FOUR years or more, the exact same spam with the exact same display picture. What, if anything, are you guys doing about it?

And these spammers are just the tip of the iceberg. Then you have the seemingly infinite number of accounts consisting of a generic name and picture with a "submit your track" link being the only song on their page. Again, why can't you just auto-ban anyone who uploads these kinds of tracks? Is your detection system really that primitive that it couldn't do such a thing?

I paid $100+ for a pro account on this site. I expect a hell of a lot more than this, frankly.
So tell me exactly what it is you are doing about these ubiquitous spammers, because it's clearly not very much.

Note: because of a "bad gateway error" I couldn't even sign in using my actual account. https://soundcloud.com/zones-quests is my profile where you can see spammers liking every track.
I continue to get a "502 gateway error" whenever I try to sign in with my "Zones Quest" profile on this community page, so I have to use this account instead. This has been going on for MONTHS. Are you EVER going to fix this, or ANY other issues? The site has exactly the same problems it had TWO YEARS AGO.
For fuck's sake, pretty simple stuff I would have thought. Apparently too much for you, like actually answering this query.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear your previous post has not received an answer from the community. We're trying to fetch as much as possible and help where we can, but cannot spot it all. Note that the community mainly consists of other SoundCloud users, so if you have a query that requires assistance from SoundCloud directly, reaching out via our contact form might be the better option.

502 - nasty bug that seems to affect only particular users. We're working with inSided - the company that powers the community site - to work out where the root cause of this issue lies.

Spam - Our Trust & Safety team continues to fight spam, but it is an ongoing battle. Please see here to learn how you can help the team: https://help.soundcloud.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003566708-Reporting-a-spam-account --> if after reading you have further questions, please use the "file a ticket" link underneath the article in order to get in touch with the team directly.

Lastly, please review our community guidelines and make sure you address other members with the same respect you want to be treated with. Thank you.

6 accounts from the same company have liked our new post in the 5 minutes after posting. All have been signaled in the next minute as "spammers".

We pay for SC, it's also to be quiet and not see these ugly orange circles.

Thanks.

That's such a pathetic answer, Mathis. I'm not addressing "other members", I'm addressing the staff of SoundCloud. You seem to be implying that you don't actually have any staff reading this stuff though. Why should I show respect to a company that took my $100 and offered me jack-shit in return apart from a bit more uploading time (a total rip-off, might I add)?

It's pretty obvious that you have no auto-detection system in place, of any kind, because six months after writing that comment, every single song I upload is liked by spammers, who are STILL using that exact same orange picture. I seriously cannot fathom why you can't just automatically block users who use this picture, it shouldn't be something you have to "battle", and it clearly isn't "ongoing" since nothing has changed at all. If anything, the amount of spammers has only increased!

The same goes for all these "promote my track" accounts. These should be LUDICROUSLY easy to detect - they all use the exact same keywords in their profiles.

I certainly won't be paying for a Pro account this time around. You guys are clearly incompetent buffoons who can't code to save your life. And if no staff are looking at this community assistance board, what exactly is the point of it? Seems like you're outsourcing your support work onto the consumer. How pitifully lazy. What appalling customer service.
