Thanks for writing to us about this. Groups are actually being deprecated.
We are always looking to improve SoundCloud by adding new features that enable our users to connect with each other, and by evaluating the tools we offer that are no longer beneficial to the community.
As we were looking deeper into the Groups experience, we found that they were not a strong driver to help users share their new tracks to the most users effectively, while reposts, curated playlists, and suggested tracks are great tools to help you get heard on SoundCloud.
We have decided to remove Groups to make room for further updates to the platform.
You will still have time to collect, like or repost the content you want to save from Groups before it’s removed. Groups will therefore be fully removed from the platform on Monday, August 22nd.
If you’re a Group Moderator, we understand the frustration this may cause as you may have built a following by moderating submissions to your Group. We suggest to keep that following going by creating a profile to curate. You can use Reposts and Playlists to share suitable tracks to the profile, and accept submissions via Messages.
If you have any further feedback or suggestions for improvements to the platform, we’d love to hear them and ensure they’re reviewed by the right people here at SoundCloud.
Thanks for your understanding.
