Soundcloud is chopping off the first second of my tracks

When I upload songs, soundcloud is chopping off the start of the audio. I have tried a few times, same problem each time.

Has anyone had the same problem? Found a solution?

Thank you.

Hey there,

Odd! I haven't heard this being an issue from many other users. Are you entirely sure the file you're upload is ok? What format are you uploading? You might also look at the bitrate and samplerate. For instance, "CD quality" is usually 16-bit, 44.1Khz.

If this continues to be an issue, what happens when you add a second of silence - is it still chopping off the beginning of the track? Clearly not a solution more so than troubleshooting to learn more about the symptom. Let us know how it goes.

I have the same issue, and also with tracks that are from other uploaders. Usually the first kick/transient is gone. However when I press the 'previous track’ button I DO hear the transient. Also when I manually drag the circle on the playback bar to the start I hear the transient. But when I just click play on any track it skips the first 100 or 200 ms...

it’s an issue for me as well, first beat is cut off and hitting the back button or manually clicking at 0:00 starts it correctly. i noticed it recently on the beginning of a mix i uploaded 5 years ago ( and thought it was crazy i had missed it all this time but didn’t remember it being a problem then realised on my latest mix ( it does the same thing when hitting play. not a huge deal but don’t want listeners thinking i was too lazy to start the sample at the right spot.
