Introducing Fan Recognition: Celebrate the Fans Who Fuel Your Music

On SoundCloud, fans aren’t just listeners — they’re the foundation of an artist's journey. From day-one supporters to repeat listeners, these fans play a crucial role in an artist's success. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Fan Recognition*, a new feature designed to highlight and celebrate an artist’s most dedicated supporters—right on their track page.

For Artists: Recognizing Your Day-One and Top Supporters

Your relationship with your fans is everything. Now, only on SoundCloud, you can publicly recognize the people who have been instrumental in your journey. Whether they were with you from the very start or have been playing your tracks on repeat, this feature lets you publicly shout out the fans who are the backbone of your success. The module, prominently displayed on your track page via web, will spotlight:

  • First Fans: The early believers, the ones who played and liked your track the most before anyone else. Their names will be displayed in order of plays accumulated during the first week.
  • Top Fans: The most dedicated listeners, those who have played your track the most and kept the music alive.

With Fan Recognition, your supporters get the credit they deserve – right where it matters most.

For Fans: Get the Recognition You Deserve

Being an early supporter of an artist isn’t just about discovering new music – it’s about shaping the careers of tomorrow’s biggest stars. Now, with Fan Recognition, your support is recognized and displayed on the artist’s track page, immortalizing your place in their journey.

Industry insights from leading sources like MIDiA and Luminate consistently highlight the importance of direct fan relationships in an artist’s success. Luminate reports that 90% of superfans engage with artists through live performances, and 81% amplify their favorite artists by spreading the word. Recognizing and nurturing these connections early can be game-changing for an artist’s career.

This is just the beginning of how SoundCloud is making fan engagement more meaningful. Artists, start recognizing your first and top fans today!

*To qualify, fans must be aged 18 and up and have liked the track, followed the artist, in addition to having a username, profile picture, and verified email address. Fans can opt out of Fan Recognition using the instructions here.
