What’s new with SoundCloud in May: Making SoundCloud easier to use

Here are the app updates from May 18, 2023. We’ve updated the app with some updates that will make your listening experience better.

Web updates

Filter comments by time. We added a filter so you can sort through comments by recency or track time.

iOS updates

Making SoundCloud easier to use

Everyday I’m shuffling: Now, when you shuffle a playlist or album, the shuffle button turns orange to show that your music is being shuffled.

Follow people more easily: We updated the follow button on your profiles to make it easier to follow artists, friends, and other random strangers on the internet.

Android updates

Making SoundCloud easier to use

Add suggested tracks on playlists. Creating the perfect playlist takes a lot of effort. Which is why we’re helping you curate with suggestions directly in your playlists. Plus, you can always refresh for more recommendations.

Play, pause, play, pause. We updated our play button for albums and playlists on Android so you can (finally) pause directly on the playlist instead of going to the player.

Everyday I’m shuffling. Now, when you shuffle a playlist or album, the shuffle button turns orange to show that your music is being shuffled.

Smaller icons. We made icons smaller so you can easily tap through music. Also, they look better, don't they?

Better support for tablets. We just improved how your library looks on your tablets for better listening on all your devices.

Other exciting news

Like our new look? We changed our logo in the app to black-and-white. Because, as one user said, "black is the new orange."

Bots begone. We're ramping up our efforts and making strides to combat fraudulent activity to maintain the integrity of fans and plays.
